Weeks of ABCs!! Letter A!

I have been inspired by my friend Autumn to study a letter of the alphabet a week with the kids! I am so excited about it, I just hope I stick to it!!

this is week one, letter A!!

so far, here are some of the things that we’ve done:
- decorated a construction paper A with lots of A stickers. As the week went on we added sticker of items that started with A.

- pretended to be different kinds of Animals

- made an Ant, sang “The Ants Came Marching One by One”, had Ants on a log for snack

- played a matching Apple game and made Apple Pizzas for breakfast
(Apple Pizzas are so good and so easy: take a slice of bread, using a cup, cut it into a circle shape. lightly toast in the oven. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese, then a layer of apple sauce, sprinkle with cinnamon. Pop back in the oven to warm through. Cut into wedges. )

garage…love it!

We are really enjoying having a garage! It’s so, so nice to have a place to store the kids outdoor toys... where they can be kept dry and accessible! We do miss the cement driveway, but I think that the garage is better, because we can at least still ride all around in it.

although the garage is great, i think that the blue stone driveway is their favorite! we're working on keeping the rocks in the the driveway and not in the garage!!

trailer ride!

Wyatt has had his eye on this trailer that lives in the garage since the day we moved in, finally they got to take a ride in it today! Matt rode them all around the yard and down the road a little ways. They loved it.

new “home”

i thought I’d take some pictures of where we are renting to help everyone visualize us somewhere. :) I know my mom has said that it’s weird not knowing where we live, not having seen any pictures of it. So, here are a couple of pictures!

nice long weekend in VA!

Matt had to work up in VA this past Friday, so we all were able to make the trip in the nice work truck Thursday evening and make a longer-than-just-a-weekend visit with his family! We had a great time, but of course, per my usual NON-picture taking self…I didn’t take any pictures until our drive home. :( I really REALLY need to get better about this!!

Diaper Sprinkle for Baby Gwinn #2

Today me, Laura H. and Laura V., two of Andrea’s really good friends (who are also my friends!) threw her a diaper sprinkle (aka: baby shower) for her second little one that is on the way. It was a lot of fun and I think that the girls and I did a pretty nice job, if I do say so myself! ;) Thanks to everyone who came to help Ree and J get ready for their new arrival! Thank you Laura and Laura for all you did to make everything so yummy and pretty! Thank you Mutti and Vati for letting us use your house!

trip to the NC zoo!

The kids and I went to the NC zoo today. I hadn’t been in about 9 years and it was the kids first time at this zoo. We meet up with some of my dear college friends and their kiddos: Elizabeth (“Elz”), who was my roommate for 2 years, and Jennifer ("Jennifer") and Jennifer (“Ricks”), who were my/our suitemates those same 2 years! :) of course my batteries in my camera died while we were there and I only was able to get a couple of pictures, only one decent. Oh well, better than none I guess!

Later that night…

My sis and her famly arrived (at my parents's house), because I am co-throwing a baby shower for her with two other friends tomorrow. All the kids needed a bath, so it was perfect timing to get another picture of them all in there together…compare with the picture taken a while back! :)

Easter Sunday

Praise the Lord, He is risen!

We went to church this morning with my parents, then out to eat, then home. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the kids standing beside eachother, but at least I did take some pictures, which is sometimes saying a lot for me! We didn’t do baskets and didn’t color eggs until this afternoon, so a little different than our usual easter! However, we did go to our church's easter picnic this evening, where they did get to hunt for eggs.
