Letter E!

Letter E has sort of spanned over 2 months…or so. Between not feeling well and being gone (vacation), we have stalled out on E!! I am not giving up though! We will continue!

Here are the things that I can remember that we did for the letter E:

• decorated a cut out of the letter E with stickers of the letter E and stickers of things that start with the letter E…we couldn’t think of too many.

sorry for the blurry pic, but you get the idea!

• practiced writing the letter E

• colored pictures of an Elephant

• had Eggs for breakfast (which is something that we do frequently, but we talked about them a little more one morning!)

so…E hasn’t gotten the kind of attention that the other letters have gotten up to this point. I will say that part of that (apart from my earlier 2 excuses!) is that D was the last letter I was able to search for activities online when we were at one of our parents houses…it’s amazing how many ideas you can get online and how I can’t come up with much on my own….i need internet access!!!

“girls weekend”

what a fun weekend this has been! Friday I headed up to Cary to meet my friend Carmen for dinner and shopping (something that we don’t really have in our new town…which can be a good thing! there are lots of little shops that seem to be more touristy, but not many stores that I’m used to shopping at.)!! we had a super fun time (i miss living closer, Carmen!!), then we headed back to her house for a “slumber” party! We stayed up way too late talking, but it was way worth it! Then we got up and got ready Saturday morning to head to our friend Laura’s baby shower in Jacksonville. It was so good to see Laura and her family. Here are a couple pictures from the shower:

Carmen, Larua (with baby boy Schlesing in belly!), lil Anna Gray (Carmen's youngest) and me (with my little bump already starting to poke out at 12 weeks!!).

the insanely pretty and delicious spread!

We hung around for a while after the shower, just to catch up some more! Then Carmen, Anna Gray and I headed back to their place. We got in there late, so I got to spend the night again!! Yay!

Sunday morning we were all rushing around to get out of the house for church. I headed to Fuquay to meet my fam at our old church (Redeemer) and the Thomas’ headed to their church.

After church we had a fun lunch with some of our Redeemer family then headed home. (if you are in the Fuquay area and are looking for an awesome place to worship, you should check out Redeemer Community Church!)

What a fun filled weekend!

Alpaca Farm

today the kids and i visited the Crystal Pines Alpaca Farm! my friend nita invited us to go with her and her son, jack, with their church...a "daycation" is what they called it! we all had a lot of fun, even if it was really hot!

i didn't even know what an alpaca was before we went, but they are really cute close relatives to llamas...and supposedly a lot nicer. i've never met a llama, but the alpaca we fed were super friendly. wyatt was too scared/shy to feed the alpaca but claire would have fed them all day long if the farmer would have let her! she loved it. of course, i wish i had pictures of this!! my camera was up with our lunch, so i have pictures of all the other animals on the alpaca farm, but none of the cute alpaca!!! i guess we'll just have to go back again! :)

here are the pictures i did take!

our friends jack and nita on the hay ride

the alpaca farmer telling us about his lawn mowers...i mean, goats!

farm pond with ducks and swans

wyatt with his favorite animal on the farm, the donkey :)

claire liked them too, they are such calm animals

now to the "barn yard" animals

giant bunnies! can't really tell how big they are by the picture, but they were big!

"nemo" the pig! claire really liked him!

claire tried to make friends with as many animals as she could...she must get this from her daddy or aunt ashley, definitely not me. i was so glad the farmer had hand sanitizer that he made everyone use as we left each area!

these were normal sized bunnies!
because my camera is soooooo delayed, i missed the bunny "kissing" her cheek! it was really cute.

like i said, claire liked nemo the pig. she was excited to see him walking around and get to pet him.

letter D!

don't want to forget about letter D! i was a teeny bit better than with letter C, i do have 1 picture (even if it isn't the greatest) for letter D!
here are some of the activities we did to study the letter D:
  • decorated our cut out of the letter D with stickers of the letter D and of things that start with the letter D
  • practiced writing the letter D and words that started with the letter D
  • went to a park that had ducks
  • watched these interesting dinosaurs grow (i use the term "grow", but they didn't get nearly as big as i was expecting them to...it was more of a swell than a grow! and my picture only shows what they looked like to begin with...trust me, they weren't impressive, or i would have remembered to take an after picture! they may have tripled their size...maybe.)
  • built dinosaur models i found at Michael's
  • watched "Dinosaur Train" (super cute and education show on PBS)
  • had dounuts for breakfast
  • colored a picture of a dog

D is for Doctor visit!!!

so our "weeks of ABCs" has been put on hold for about a month, because...i have been feeling awful!

we are expecting sweet baby renfrow #3!!!! :) we found out june 5th, which was the first day i started feeling bad, but i knew it was because of something so good!

i just went to the doctor for the first visit last week and we all got to see the sweet little babers! i wish i could scan in the ultra sound picture to share it, but alas, our scanner is broken (those things just don't last very long!). we are super excited!!!

...now if i can just be strong and endure this all-day-long-sickness!! :) and my poor sweet family as well! matt has been amazing with cooking suppers and picking up my slack, i just don't want him to have to do it for too long! i usually LOVE to do those things, and i can barely think of anything food related...ugh, i think i need to talk about something else. my hubs is the best!! :)

thank you Lord for this blessing to our family!
