homeless!

Well, not really, but it is a strange feeling to not have a “home” to go home to! We are extremely thankful to be staying at my parent’s house and we will have a house that we will head to on Monday, but it is fully furnished with someone else’s things. Which is a blessing for us right now, since we aren’t sure where we are going to end up, but just sort of an odd feeling.

Here are just some pictures of us today and vati and mutti’s house!

getting packed up…day 2

wyatt and claire have been such good sports about having to hang out in different rooms at different times. The movers arrived early again today…kids where in their pjs a little bit longer today! The movers were here almost as long as they were here yesterday!

Here’s our moving truck…empty and ready to be filled…again.

Our house is empty…it makes me think of when we first arrived almost 6 years ago. The anticipation and excitement of what the Lord would do in our lives while we were here and how He would fill our house. And oh, how He filled it…and grew us!! More than we could have ever imagined. We are so blessed to have lived here and to have the neighbors that we’ve had here. We are sad to leave. we love the memories that we’ve made here, and we feel confident that we have more memories to make…just somewhere else. We aren’t exactly sure what to expect in our near future, but the great thing is that we know that God is in control of it all, and as long as our trust and faith is in Him, we will have nothing to worry about. Praise God!

So long 1720 Quail Grove Street and thank you.

getting packed up…day 1

the movers arrived around 8am this morning…they said between 8am and 9am, I was hoping for a little closer to 9am, but I think that the first guy got here a couple minutes BEFORE 8am!! We had three guys doing all the packing, and they were all very nice and very busy! The first guy that arrived, did a quick glance of the place and felt certain that they could get it all done by the end of the day…he later found out that there was more than met the eye! ;) they will be coming back tomorrow!

The first thing they did was cover most of the floors with cardboard and plastic.

Everything that is on the bed is going with us. Matt heads out Monday after we close and the kids and I will be staying a week at my parents and then we’ll be heading to the house we are going to be renting I think the following monday. Not sure when we’ll get the rest of our things. We have a month of free storage, then it gets pretty pricey, so hopefully it won’t be too long!

the kids did so well with everything. i think that they thought it was kind of fun to have something different going on...and to get to watch shows that they love most of the day. ;)

last play date at this house

claire, madelyn and wyatt

just a pictures of our play time with our neighbors, Andrea and Madelyn, this afternoon. the sad thing is that it is actually the only "play date" we've ever had!! we see them outside a lot and play and chat, but not an actual "play date" like this. it was fun...we should have done it more often! :)

one week left at 1720!!

7 days until the movers arrive!! wow!

here's the latest:
on monday we almost put an offer in on the only house we've seen that we liked–our realtor had it all written up! then late that afternoon, the bank we were pre-approved with (who didn't yet know about our offer) called to let us know that the loan we were planning on is out of funding!! stinks, cause we were actually getting excited about the house and if we would have done the offer a week or two early and were able to get under contract, we would still be able to have that loan, because they are still planning to finance those under contract! BUT it is also amazing, because we wanted the Lord to close the door if...it wasn't the house for us, or the time for us to have the house, or if it was really going to be a stretch for us to afford and we just weren't realizing it...and He did!! He even did it in a way that we didn't expect!

so, we will be renting for now, which is totally fine with us! we feel like that is exactly what God wants us to do! :) as of tuesday, we even have a place to rent already!! God is sooo so good to us! one of matt's co-worker's girlfriend has a house that she is going to rent us AND it's furnished!! so it will give us more time to look and hopefully avoid having to move all of our stuff twice! what a blessing!!

our next hurdle (well, one of them anyway!! :) ) is if we can get the people to store our stuff for as long as we need!

the movers arrive sometime next thursday to pack, then load the truck up friday!! we close on our house (1720) on monday (29th). then matt leaves that afternoon for training in iowa...for the week! the kids and i will be staying at my parents, which we think will be fun! (mutti and vati, here we come!!) and we don't want to leave out our sweet pup! lucy will be with her auntie ash and uncle john who have so graciously offered to take care of her until we are able to bring her home! we are going to miss her...however, she's probably not going to want to come back to live with us after having so much fun with her cousins!!

well, that's what's going on as of right now! hopefully i'll take more pictures in the coming week to have something to look at on here! ;)

house hunting

we had a full weekend of house hunting!! vati and mutti came saturday to stay with the kids so that we could go on our own, and then sunday we went back for more with the kids, and they actually did very well!!

well...we are a bit overwhelmed to say the least...we really didn't see anything that was saying "buy me, buy me" until the very last house that we saw sunday evening. i am not sure that we are sold on it yet either, but we are praying about it...we'll see what this week holds. our realtor (who is awesome!) says that she feels we've seen everything that is in our price range that is worth looking at. so, i don't know.

as the "move out" day gets closer, we are starting to wonder where we will be and think it is sort of crazy that we don't know! it's also very exciting to know that God has a plan for our family and though we know that we have to make some big decisions here soon, His timing is perfect and there is no need to worry, He is working out all the details.

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Matthew 6:26-34

'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
