the gwinn's (my sis and her fam!) came to visit us this weekend! we had such a great time and celebrated her birthday while they were here. me being the great picture taken person that i am (haha) only have 4 pictures to show of their visit...all of the same ice cream eating event! we found these tiny ice cream cones and they are the perfect little ice cream snack for the kiddos...really, even for the big kiddos (parents!)...portion control. but anyway, here they are enjoying their ice cream!
well, I have no pictures of this past week (ur, 2 weeks)…slacker!! But here are some of the things we did to learn about the letter C:
-decorated our construction cut out of the letter C with lots of C stickers and stickers of things that started with the letter C
-looked at the clouds to see what shapes/objects we could see in them
-played a little “copy cat” game
-played the game “Cooties”…had the pieces all around the house for the rest of the week!!! (if you know this game, you know how many pieces it has! Ugh…it won’t be coming back out for a little while!)
-daddy made pancakes in the shape of the letter C for breakfast on Saturday
while we are in limbo about what we are going to do – stay here, buy a house, rent somewhere else – we don't have a dresser (there is actually one in our closet, but the drawers are super thin, not much would fit in them). however, we do have this nice big chair that has become our dresser....until we get our furniture, or switch rooms...which we also are in limbo about (when to/what to do with our furniture and if we want to switch rooms)!
Since wyatt and Claire now share a room, nap/rest time for wyatt has been a bit tricky. After trying to put them down for nap at the same time and finding out that it only worked the first time, I’ve had to put wyatt in different spots. He was taking them in the “extra” bedroom/office for a little while, but now that he’s got the fun ball tent, we’ve put his sleeping bag in it and it has worked great!

Wyatt loves the tv, so i thought this would be a great way to start his birthday. I am pretty sure that Claire enjoyed it as well!
Bubs! We can’t believe that you are 4!!! Where has the time gone? I guess that we’ve just been having so much fun since you came into our lives, and “they” do say that “time flies when you’re having fun!” :) it sure seems to be true! You are a blessing to us and have taught us so much…Lord willing we hope we can be and do the same for you! :) We love you so much Wyatt!
watching “Super Why!”
Matt is out of town today, but I still wanted to do something special for Wyatt’s birthday. So, we met our only friends in our new town, Nita and her son Jack, for a pizza super at the park, then went to get ice cream afterwards. I think that he enjoyed it all! :)
this week we’ve studied the letter B! here are some of things we did: - decorated a construction paper B with B stickers and items that start with B! - Blew Bubbles - made Blueberry muffins - played in the Ball tent that wyatt got for his birthday from his Grandpa and Grandma - rolled and tossed “Beach” Ball back and forth
ha! It’s not really a terrace, but a screened in deck...“breakfast on the terrace” just has a nice ring to it! :) the weather has been so nice that we are out here almost every chance we get! love it.
Today my sweet friend Carmen and her 3 kiddos made the trip to visit us and help us celebrate wyatt’s 4th birthday…a few days early! She even brought these awesome doughnuts for his “cake”! we didn’t do anything really organized, but the kids played and watched part of the cars movie while she and I tried to catch up as much as we could!
I have been inspired by my friend Autumn to study a letter of the alphabet a week with the kids! I am so excited about it, I just hope I stick to it!!
this is week one, letter A!!
so far, here are some of the things that we’ve done:
- decorated a construction paper A with lots of A stickers. As the week went on we added sticker of items that started with A.
-pretended to be different kinds of Animals
- made an Ant, sang “The Ants Came Marching One by One”, had Ants on a log for snack

- played a matching Apple game and made Apple Pizzas for breakfast
(Apple Pizzas are so good and so easy: take a slice of bread, using a cup, cut it into a circle shape. lightly toast in the oven. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese, then a layer of apple sauce, sprinkle with cinnamon. Pop back in the oven to warm through. Cut into wedges. )

We are really enjoying having a garage! It’s so, so nice to have a place to store the kids outdoor toys... where they can be kept dry and accessible! We do miss the cement driveway, but I think that the garage is better, because we can at least still ride all around in it.

although the garage is great, i think that the blue stone driveway is their favorite! we're working on keeping the rocks in the the driveway and not in the garage!!
Wyatt has had his eye on this trailer that lives in the garage since the day we moved in, finally they got to take a ride in it today! Matt rode them all around the yard and down the road a little ways. They loved it.
