after nap

after wyatt's nap (if claire is already up from her's or they decided to nap at different times!) she and i go in his room to get him out of the bed. i always lay claire on his bed so i can get him out and change his diaper. he wasn't quite ready to get out of the bed this afternoon, so he and claire were attacked by the "mommarazzi"!! i am only posting one of the many flashes they were exposed to!

claire's 1st food

claire had her first taste of food – baby rice cereal! she was so cute trying to eat it, kept pushing it out with her tongue! it was so runny, the way the box tells you to prepare it. definitley won't make it so runny tomorrow.

morning walks

i've finally decided we need to get into more of a routine again. so, for starters, we are trying to walk in the mornings! matt retrieved the roomie double stroller (so generously given to us) from the attic and today was our first day! i think the kids really enjoyed it, and so did i! it was right around claire's nap time, so she napped. wyatt brings a toy, juice and snack – all that and a nice ride outside, who wouldn't be happy with that! i don't think i heard two words out of him! we'll do it again tomorrow...and hopefully the day after that, and the day after that, and so on!

happy 2nd birthday wyatt!! – part 2

wyatt's 2nd birthday was a far cry from his 1st birthday celebration! sorry buddy. i just didn't have the time or energy to do any more! i think that he had a fun day though. (aside from the fact that his mommie made his 2 yr doc appt for today...oops!! at least he only had a finger prick, which he watched the whole thing and didn't wimper a bit. he actually seemed really interested in what the nurse was doing and didn't act like he felt anything! amazing.) his grandma eakright came and spent the day with us, later that day uncle jay and "auntie ree" came for dinner, and then his neighbor friend rachel came over after super! i also made him strawberry short cake. he loves fruit and cake icing doesn't seem to agree with him for some reason, so it seemed like the perfect birthday cake for him. :)

wyatt's 2nd birthday – part 1

we had a fun weekend in virginia with lots to celebrate: matt's mom's birthday (fri), bridal shower for ash (matt's sis) on sat, mother's day (today), wyatt's birthday (tomorrow)!

wyatt's thoughtful grandma "nana" had a yummy cookie cake for him and his aunt "asheesh" gave him this super fun tent!

jumpin

claire's tryin' out the doorway jumper. she's definitely not jumping at this point, but she seemed to enjoy being in a somewhat standing position! i think she was in it for a little over a hour!

bug bites

poor wyatt is so sensitive to "bug" bites....mosquito or spider, we don't know? this is the second time that he has been bitten around the eye. he woke up this way this morning. it actually looks better in this picture than it did earler, it was almost all the way shut this morning.

who needs toys...

...when you've got a big box! i taped up different parts of the flaps on this box so that one end had the doors and the other end had a window. 30 minutes of in-and-out, door-opening-and-closing fun!

claire watched wyatt's box fun while having her first experience in the bumbo! she kept leaning to the right...she needs a little more practice, but i think she enjoyed it for the most part.

daddy's little helper

wyatt LOVES being outside, and especially if his daddy is out there! he's even wearing one of his daddy's hats here!

matt's gearing up for the spring and summer. so far he has white potatoes, tomatoes, peas and corn planted (there are probably a couple others, but this is all i can remember right now!). lucy is staying cool in the shade, watching matt and wyatt work in the "smaller" of the two gardens in our back yard!

nice hat!

my sweet friend gwen came to spend the day with us today! we decided to go for a walk this evening so we put our jackets on because it had gotten breezy. this was the first time claire had ever worn this jacket (or a jacket in general!) and so it was also the first time we saw what the hood on it looked like. ...it seemed normal off...not so normal on....it looks like a certain type of hat to me, i just can think of what kind of hat that is?? chef hat? cone head hat? strawberry shortcake hat? here is a picture of claire strapped on gwen in the bjourn....what do you think?

1st guitar lesson

we can't believe this is the first time matt brought out his guitar for wyatt, but it is. he looks so tiny compared to it! he enjoyed strumming and dropped the pick inside ...matt eventually shook it out! little claire watching...

big boy bed!!!

it took us about a month to get around to finally making the guest bedroom into wyatt's room, but we did it! it's definitely still a work in progress, but it will do for now. wyatt seems to really like it and he's doing great!! he's excited to get in bed at night. hopefully that will always be the case!

gatorland

this one is for uncle j and auntie ree! they gave claire this onesie before she was born. i even captured her participating in their favorite pastime – the nap! :)

"fort"

we built our first fort today!

it was by far the easiest fort ever built, and looked more like a tent! wyatt thought is was fun and insisted that "care" come in with him. she just lay there looking around while he could barely be still long enough for me to take these pictures! thankfully claire made it out with no injuries!

how time flies!

a lot has happened in the little over a year since we last posted! wow! now claire is closer to the age wyatt was in the last post than wyatt is! here is the most recent pictures of them that we have access to. they were taken on feb. 27, so almost a month ago. wyatt was 21 months (now he's 22 months) and claire was 2 months (she turns 3 months today!!). wyatt likes to hold her on his lap. it's very cute. he'll even try to put his arms under her when she is sitting in her chair to pick her up, but she weighs too much for us to have to worry about him being able to do that for a while! he weighs around 28 lbs and she weighs around 16 lbs!

hopefully we'll be able to post something at least once a week now! that is our goal any way! i'm also going to try to go in and go backwards as well, to fill in some of what went on with us last year! we'll see how that goes! :)

shoes....

...if he can get his hands on them, he will have his feet in them! it's not only one of his favorite words to say ("oosh"), they are also one of his favorite things - wyatt loves shoes...of all kinds! here you can see he found his daddy's boots! they make a wonderful addition to his already wonderfully matching outfit!

big brother

today was the first time we actually took a picture of wyatt and claire together, and also the first time wyatt got to hold claire! so cute and kind of nerve racking cause he kept trying to poke her in the eye or press his face on her!

Claire Marie is here!

Sweet baby Renfrow #2 arrived today, and we were surprised with a little girl!! Claire Marie was born at 6:45am, 8 lbs 12 oz. we are so excited and so blessed to have a healthy little daughter and little sister for wyatt! i was scheduled for an 11am c-section, but the Lord heard my prayers and desire to go into labor on my own and let it happen! so i woke up around 4am to my water breaking, then we were heading to the hospital within 30 minutes! i still had a c-section, for several reasons, and my doc was so gracious to come in a few hours early to still do the surgery instead of a doc i had never met before.

Matt's Fishin' Trip

Matt went on a fishing trip with his Uncle Chris and cousin Mel. they had a great time and a good turn out! they said that it started out slow and then they caught all the fish at once!
