chicken pox and mashed potatoes

yes, poor sweet little claire somehow caught the chicken pox. we haven't heard of anyone having the chicken pox, so we didn't know what to think of the tiny little blisters popping up all over her cute little body. she had just gone to the doc for her 1 year visit a couple days before the first sighting, so we thought at first it was a reaction to one of the shots she received that day. i am sure that the people a the grocery store thought i was nuts to bring my child covered in sores there, but i honestly had NO idea that we could be spreading anything. i pray that no one else got them from her.

(and later we will find out that the tiny little red bump on the top of her nose near her left eyebrow is a chicken pock!!!!! :( )

claire is the monkey in our house. wyatt didn't start climbing on things until MONTHS after he started walking. claire on the other hand has taken to climbing on things and it seems that walking is not a top priority for her (which that is something she has in common with her brother!)! i have to watch her like a hawk. she's mastered getting in of this chair that is in the video, out of it is a little bit different story, but she's getting better. the standing is what has to be stopped though. here's a video of our little climber standing, sitting, getting out of the chair and finally...getting the baby! (also, listen to wyatt in the background...he just reacts and replies!)

Renfrow-Renfrow-Pollock Christmas :)

we went to the VA Renfrows for new years and to celebrate christmas with them. we had a great time and we are once again lacking in pictures from this visit!!! we got a new camera for christmas, so hopefully we can get a little better at this!

now here's a little video of cutie wyatt! he's experienced being put to "nigh nigh" many a time, but he was playing with his auntie "ashee" right before bed time and i barely caught the end on camera of him putting her "nigh nigh"... :)

Christmas Morning

ok, i uploaded the pics differently, not purposefully, just not going to go back and change it. change things up a bit.

wyatt and claire were so cute christmas morning...mainly because we just think that they are so cute. but wyatt was excited about the fact that santa had come and that there were MORE presents under the tree. by the time christmas is over this year, he's going to think that opening presents is just something you do every couple of days!! here they are sitting on the couch (where "maw" has slept last night) with some of the gifts we had given them last night.

(side note: "munash" is how wyatt says mustache!! this is how he distinguishes his grandpa's:
grandpa eakright is "papa munash"
grandpa renfrow is "papa 'sip'ahh" (it's the sound his grandpa renfrow makes after a sip of diet pepsi!!)

"maw" helped claire open her gifts from santa. she got some fun food and other accessories for their kitchen that "papa munash" and "maw" gave them for christmas.









wyatt and claire cleaned up for the rest of chrismas day, checking out the kitchen that we had just finished putting together!








vati and mutti had left earlier to head back to their house. since we knew andrea and eli were coming, we thought it was probably better that they not wait for us! we headed over as soon as we could, which was sort of hectic and made us re-think how we will do this transition in the future. but we had a very nice christmas! :)

Christmas Eve 2008

now that wyatt is starting to understand different things about christmas, we've decided that we are going to spend christmas eve at home! vati and mutti came to spend it with us! :) the sweet gwinns are at home celebrating as well, and we will meet up with andrea and eli tomorrow and vati and mutti's house to celebrating together. jason has to work christmas through the weekend, so we will really miss getting good hang-out time in with him. we are also really looking forward to seeing the renfrows and pollocks in a few days!

Eakright-Renfrow-Gwinn "Christmas Eve"

we also celebrated christmas with the Eakright side this weekend. we had to celebrate a few days early so that we could all be together. fun times as usual! :) the only thing that made it not feel quite right was that we didn't play a single game!! here we are getting ready do "christmas eve" to exchange present with each other, our christmas eve tradition! :)

Happy 1st Birthday Claire!

we can't believe it, but it is true, little Claire is one year old!! wow, that happened fast! we don't have an official birthday party planned for her yet, but we had to do a mini celebration on the actual day!

i just thought that she was so funny, because she was playing with the phone for a brief moment, yet it somehow ended up wrapped all around her and she went from end table to coffee table, etc., playing, investigating, the whole time the phone cord just wrapped around and being pulled behind.

christmas tree shopping

no pictures of the actual shopping, but that is what we did this evening, and why sweet claire is all bundled up! we've bought our christmas tree from the same place since we've lived in our house, until this year. in front of one of our plots of land that we rent is a produce type stand. the friendly people that rent it out sell omish funiture and they had told matt they they were going to sell christmas trees. so we went to check them out. they had the place set up and decorated so nice and we were able to meet them and talk with them for a little while. it was so fun to see wyatt running around the trees and help us pick out the one for us! we settle on a very pretty tree, which i hope to have pictured at some point in another post!
